What’s the Dream?

Every renovation starts with an idea. What needs to change? What do you want to change?

1) What’s driving the desire/need to change ?

  • your lifestyle (growing family, downsizing, eldercare)
  • a desire to upgrade the look of your home
  • new technologies are available (windows, heating systems, etc.)
  • repairs/maintenance (roof, siding, etc.)

2) Have some fun - what ideas do you have about the look and feel of the renovation?

Start a file of ideas with images from magazines, download ideas from the internet or take photos of features and products that you like.

A positive renovation experience starts with good upfront planning. There are many free resources available to help you get started. The CMHC website is one of those resources. They offer a number of forms and videos to help you get started. Invest 4 minutes of your time to review this video-link as a great place to start.

Then, download the appropriate form(s) for the area you want to renovate. Start making a list of what you’d like to change and what’s driving the change. Get your questions and ideas on paper. As the video points out – if you’re not sure what it will all look like - no problem.

Dream to Design/Plan

You’ve done your preliminary work and we’ve had a couple of conversations. We may have been able to do some initial legwork for you to identify building/zoning bylaws that apply to your residence.

Now it’s time to translate your ideas into a working design. Based on the project’s complexity we’ll be able to determine whether a designer or architect is needed for the project. We’ll introduce you to our award winning team to co-create a design to meet your needs.

With the completed design we’ll be able to put a full budget estimate together for you.

Design/Plan to Build

Our team of skilled craftspeople and professional contractors come together to build your dream. We’ll communicate regularly. If you’re planning to be out of town and still want to stay in touch? Our web-based project management software can keep you up to date with images and message updates about the project as it progresses.

Changes as we go? That’s often the case as you identify features that you’d like to alter or adjust. Let us know what you’re thinking and we’ll work with you to incorporate those emerging ideas.

Your dream, your home!
